The Sharon Public Schools is seeking a Therapeutic Intervention Specialist for the 24-25 school year to work with the Team Based Learning Program (TBL) at Heights Elementary.
The role of the Intervention Specialist includes but is not limited to:
- Coordination and direction of crisis based interventions in collaboration with other program staff
- Facilitate and implement crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Shared responsibility to develop and implement Behavior Plans with program social workers as appropriate
- Ongoing provision of verbal and physical de-escalation as appropriate for students throughout the school day and all environments
- Ongoing training to Instructional assistants in de-escalation strategies and techniques
- Monitor and maintain time-out/break and restraint logs for program students
- Mange and run classroom space designed for de-escalation, including instruction to students in how to use de-escalation space
- Collaboration with the with program teachers, social worker, therapists and instructional assistants on all aspects of the program and student needs
- Other duties assigned by the Director of Student Services
Qualifications: Bachelor's in education or a related field.
Experience with Crisis Intervention and De-Escalation techniques required.
CORI and Fingerprinting required.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30-3:30, following the Sharon Public Schools schedule.
Job Types: Contract, 6.5 hours per day when school is in session
Pay: $40-50 per hour worked- based on experience
This is a 1099 contract service position, and follows the Sharon Public Schools schedule.
Billing invoices must be submitted by provider to the Office of Student Services and then will be processed by the Town of Sharon for payment.
